Business and Enterprise Systems Product Innovation (BESPIN), in partnership with the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC) and the Air Force Services Center (AFSVC), is proud to announce the successful Air Force-wide rollout of Kinderspot – a cutting-edge mobile application designed to assist Department of Defense (DoD) families in subletting child care spots at their home or temporary duty locations.
Kinderspot was officially rolled out Air Force wide on July 17 and is conveniently accessible for all Air Force families to download on Apple and Android devices.
Air Force Child Development Centers (CDCs) are known to have long waitlists, meaning it can take months for a permanent child care spot to become available. With Kinderspot, those in need of child care can take advantage of the temporarily available spots that often arise when Airmen are deployed, on leave or on a temporary duty assignment. Now available at all Air Force installations equipped with CDCs, Kinderspot has made significant progress in streamlining the short-term subletting process and enhancing readiness across the service.

“Kinderspot has been a major win when it comes to supporting our members and their families with child care in the Air Force,” said BESPIN Branch Chief Lt. Col. Tyler Hough. “By enabling a path to make mobile applications available across the Air Force, such as Kinderspot, we’re showcasing how mobile applications are making life a little easier for those who serve. The hard work and dedication put into Kinderspot is a prime example of why BESPIN is the focal point for delivering mobile applications and is the Mobile Center of Excellence for the Air Force.”
Initially deployed in 2021 at nine test bases, Kinderspot rapidly gained traction and is now supporting 12,361 users. It has facilitated 12,558 child care spot rentals and offered a total of 22,458 weeks of child care spots for rental.
Kinderspot is also equipped with an administrative portal that select CDC administrators and staff can use to manage data.
BESPIN and vendor partner Oddball continue to meet the needs of Kinderspot users by consistently utilizing user feedback to improve user experience. Kinderspot is supported by Mission Delivery as a Service (MDaaS), BESPIN’s mobile delivery pipeline that plays a crucial role in upholding strict security standards for DoD applications.
BESPIN is a software solution center chartered to build the Air Force Mobile Center of Excellence and scale cloud and mobile application development across the Air Force and DoD.
