Montgomery, AL — Business and Enterprise Systems Product Innovation (BESPIN) is excited to announce the launch of the Business and Enterprise Systems (BES) web application, called Business Enterprise Application Monitoring (BEAM), that allows for integrated applications and programs to be easier to consolidate and digest.
BEAM provides senior leadership within BES with improved situational awareness over the health and status of BES’s software portfolio by providing insight into the interconnectedness of its constituent parts.
“BEAM is a game-changer for BES, enabling us to continue the journey of ‘delighting our users,’” said Mr. Alvin Burse, BES Program Executive Officer. “With BEAM, we’re able to monitor our applications and see the overall effect of service outages. This allows us to respond proactively, which ultimately benefits our users.”
Lt. Col. Tyler Hough, BESPIN Chief Operating Officer, said the launch of BEAM marks a significant milestone in BESPIN’s ongoing collaboration with BES.
“BEAM highlights our shared commitment to innovative and efficient software solutions,” Hough said. “This application not only strengthens our relationship but also enhances our capability to provide critical insights and support to BES’s leadership.”
BEAM Project Manager, 1st Lt. Thadius Blackmon, said the application uses intuitive visual design to show the connections between apps and programs, with all important information about them loaded into an easy to read display, including information about the other programs they interact with and rely upon. BEAM also provides management with a visual overview of the impact of service outages, allowing for planning and response to maintenance and incidents.
BEAM’s other functions include:
- Simulating user experience and calculating risk propagation
- Determining severity and priorities with system issues
- Monitoring timelines, visualize patterns and predicting risk based on user experience and time series
- Showing if an organization’s systems are affected by other system issues
- Displaying relative data and information regarding the system
- Indicating periods of vulnerability
- A search function
- Incident Status with manual data entry from BEAM
BEAM was developed and launched into production thanks to the efforts of BESPIN Airmen and vendor partners who power our enterprise services teams – Mission Delivery as a Service (MDaaS), Cloud Operations, Design Studio, and Access Connect/Data Connect (ACDC).
BESPIN is a software solution center chartered to build the U.S. Air Force Mobile Center of Excellence and scale cloud and mobile application development across the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense.
